UNFCCC

United Nations (UNFCCC) · 2017 · Public / NGO · via Flipside Group

A full redesign of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change website, the UN’s primary platform for communicating global climate policy to the world.

UNFCCC

Introduction

I redesigned the UNFCCC website (its style, usability and function) for both internal and external users, from delegates and negotiators to press, NGOs and the public.

Improve the site’s style, usability and function across a very broad set of audiences, and deliver a cohesive, adaptable platform to communicate climate policy changes, conferences and more, reliably and at scale.

Strategic thinking & planning

Detailed research and user interviews; wireframes and user flows to organise an enormous content set into clear pathways, including a mega-menu; interactive prototypes; and a design system, plus a digital style guide and specifications to help developers implement the CSS accurately.

Outcomes

A cohesive, adaptable platform for the UN to communicate climate policy across a huge content set and multiple devices, backed by a style guide and specifications that let the UN’s developers build and maintain it accurately.
